Awakening

An awakening first takes place with acknowledgment that we have fallen short (Romans 3:23), then repentance (John 3:3; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9-10), and regeneration (1 Corinthians 5:17). As we are awakened as believers in Christ, we are alert and conscious of how we live. We recognize that we have an enemy of our souls looking to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8) and never wants us to do anything that is good and pleases God.
Sin (continual disobedience and wrongdoing) separates us from God. Therefore, there are things that we need to be mindful of as believers as we walk circumspectly (Ephesians 5:15-16). That is an attitude of carefulness of how we live and behave everyday. One of those things that we need to be mindful of is our attitude. Are we murmuring, unthankful, prideful, envious, full of hate, unforgiving and the like? If we are not careful, we can fall prey to any of these. That is why an awakening is necessary - to understand that such things displease God and can destroy our souls (now and for eternity).
Are we awakened?
